A second round of photos from the Minneapolis Institute of Art, See Here. The Art in Bloom event is wonderful. The whole musuem is really. Check out their website and follow their instagram for daily inspiration.
A friend and I went to brunch not to long ago and started discussing our favorite stories. And all the dumb things characters do in them. We wrote a list of rules to follow for our favorite heroes. Next up, writing a story following the rules......
Deborah and Sam’s 21 RULES of Surviving and Thriving in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy World.
Don’t ever assume that someone doesn’t speak the language. Honestly, you sound like an idiot.
The first person you have sex with after you lose the love of your life will be evil.
You childhood best friend will always end up hating you and you’ll feel bad when you get them killed. Because you’re usually sleeping with whoever they are in love with.
Always listen to the mousey girl. She’s smarter than you, she has you on a pedestal and she thinks she’s in love with you. Which you know, but ignore. But seriously she knows EVERYTHING that is going on and all your possible threats.
For crap’s sake ALWAYS protect your power/life source and/or Cylon factory. It’s where your strength is, don’t be an idiot and leave it unprotected for even a minute.
Be nice to EVERYONE. Even the ugly people. Probably especially the ugly people.
You will always fall from grace. Usually very publicly. Suck it up. Do it with class.
The new advisor is ALWAYS evil, the old advisor that you ignore is ALWAYS right.
Riddles are always literal, not metaphorical.
You will inevitably have a moral rift with your sidekick. Because you’re arrogant.
Your parents are NEVER what they seem.
Don’t kiss/make contracts with random strangers. Especially not in the woods.
If you’re ever starving, don’t EVER EAT the fantastic looking food you see first. Just DON’T. PUT IT DOWN!
Beware of mirrors.
The nicest room/path/door is ALWAYS the wrong one.
The shabbiest looking artifact is ALWAYS the right one.
Being in charge SUCKS.
The nicest, kindest person you know, the one you don’t deserve at all, will always die.
19. The bad person/nemesis will NEVER follow his/her own rules.
20. The coward will always be brave when it counts.
And finally, the most important rule of all,
21. What you think you wish for is NEVER what you really want.
A few weeks ago I went to my fourth Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It's such a beautiful place and well-put together. It gets bigger and bigger each year.
Art in Bloom is an event in which local florists come and create arrangements inspired by the pieces in the museum. There are always a lot that I adore so, I'll post photos twice from this event. ENJOY!
The last four years or so, I've gone to the Macy's flower show that happens in the Spring time. It usually means spring has begun. Well, even though it was beautiful and temperate in the show it was snowing outside! It was a nice, little escape.
I am late starting my annual spring cleaning. I was pretty sick for the last two weeks. Included in my spring cleaning is working on planned blog posts. I am making a plan for regular features as well as getting it redone. I am very excited about this! Have a GREAT DAY!
